Fuse Alliance is unleashing more potential for its commercial flooring contractor members at its annual conference, being held at the historic Peabody hotel in Memphis, Tennessee, March 4-7, 2023.
Fuse Executive Director Geoff Gordon reported that the organization has added 23 new members over the last year and business was up 25% in 2022. Fuse also added three new suppliers: Patcraft, Philadelphia Commercial, and Shaw Contract.
On the first day of sessions, Fuse members shared best practices that are helping to grow their businesses.
"One of the greatest benefits of being a member of this network is having national reach, as well as into Canada," said Jenelle Dockery, EVP, Golden State Contract Flooring San Francisco, California. "We have the ability to market ourselves as a national entity for customers, which is a big advantage, especially if you're a single location like myself."
Ken Hurd, founder, president and chief executive officer of Commercial Interior Resources in Irvine, California, outlined the impact of sharing his businesses's process flow, which on paper, measures about 30 feet long.
"What it does is it shows you the responsibilities of all the people involved in project with the idea that everybody can see how they influence the person upstream from them and downstream from them and what value they're bringing to it," Hurd said. "I want our customers to understand the complexity of what we do and what we go about every single day."
