After 55 years serving the carpet industry, Joe Yarbrough, president of The Carpet and Rug Institute (CRI), announced his intent to retire later this year. Over the next several months, CRI will prepare for this important leadership transition.
Yarbrough became the president of CRI on March 31, 2014. The industry trade association serves as the leading source for science-based information about carpet and whose members represent more than 90 percent of the carpet manufactured in the U.S. Prior to leading CRI, Yarborough held various positions at Coronet Industries, Aladdin Mills and Mohawk Industries, most recently serving as executive vice president of operations at Mohawk.
A dedicated community leader, Yarbrough serves on the board of several local and statewide organizations, including the Technical College System of Georgia and Dalton Utilities, and is an active member of Grove Level Baptist Church in Dalton.
