Unilin Technologies will launch a new slip-resistance technology for ceramic tiles at TECNA, an international exhibition of surfaces technologies September 27-30, 2022, in Rimini Italy.
This patented innovation, marketed as "GripTile", is infused into the ceramic tiles to increase its dynamic coefficient of friction (DCOF). Unilin said the technology exceeds standards for slip resistance and also performs well above the standard in other tests such as DIN 51130, DIN 51097, pendulum tests and BCR. The technology can be applied to ceramics that will be used indoors or outdoors and for residential and commercial spaces. The surface remains soft to the touch and is easy to clean.
“GripTile creates safer surfaces because of its intrinsic slip resistance, but it is also naturally safe and made from non-toxic chemicals,” said Jasmine Geerinckx, business development director, Unilin Technologies. “It makes life more comfortable in places where the floor could get slippery, especially for children and elderly people.”
