True Teak, a new collection of prefinished engineered hardwood floors from Monarch Plank, brings to the flooring market the beauty of authentic Southeast Asian Teak.
Monarch Plank’s True Teak floors are certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and meet the strictest environmental and quality standards, featuring a thick, sawn top layer, premium Baltic birch plywood backing, and a durable, silky, ultra-matte urethane finish.
True Teak is grown in the highlands of Thailand on plantations that are specially managed for longer life cycles of 25 to 30 years. This older growth timber has more of the beautiful texture and color of natural rainforest Teak, but without the environmental impact.
“We’re excited to be able to make this precious and difficult-to-find hardwood available to our customers,” comments Danny Harrington, vice president of product strategy. “We are very fortunate to have unique access to an abundant supply of this beautiful material from an environmentally sound source.”
The True Teak collection is comprised of 5/8” thick options in prime grade 4-3/4” wide planks and light rustic grade 7-1/4” planks. Both grades are available in a "bleached" finish, a look that has long been popular in the high end teak furniture market, as well as a "sunned" finish with the darker color of natural Teak.
