Hardwood basketball court manufacturer Connor Sports received the Legacy Award from the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame (MSHOF) at the 2021 MSHOF Induction Ceremony held at the Sound Board at Motor City Casino in Detroit, Michigan.
The Legacy Award is presented annually by the MSHOF to recognize a venue, event, company or organization whose community service is woven into the fabric of sports in the State of Michigan.
The MSHOF cited Connor’s 150-year history as the global leader in hardwood basketball court production at the company’s mill in Amasa, Michigan, including providing courts for the NCAA Final Four, numerous NBA teams, the FIBA World Championships and the 2016 and 2021 summer games in Rio and Tokyo.
“Connor Sports is extremely pleased to be recognized by the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame with the 2021 Legacy Award,” said Jeff Kresja, vice president of marketing strategy, Connor Sports/Gerflor USA. “The tremendous work by our proud employees at our Upper Peninsula Michigan production facility in Amasa is the cornerstone of the high-quality products that we have provided to valued customers around the globe for 150 years.”
