FCICA announced that James Lesslie, president of the commercial division of Engineered Floors, will be the keynote speaker at this year's Mid-Year Meeting, FCICA: Connecting the Flooring Community.
A well-known leader in the flooring industry, Lesslie joined Engineered Floors in 2011. In 2018, while maintaining his corporate role as vice president, he was appointed president of the commercial division, where he is charged with accelerating the growth in the company's commercial sales divisions, J & J Flooring Group, EF Contract and Pentz. Prior to his current role, Lesslie was the COO of Beaulieu of America and vice president of the Tile Commercial Business at Shaw Industries.
Lesslie has over 30 years of industry experience in almost all aspects of the carpet industry, including operations, product development, sales and marketing. His keynote presentation, a timely topic - the current state and a look into the future of the commercial flooring industry, will kick off the October 20-21 virtual meeting.
Lesslie shared his thoughts about presenting "2020 may be one of the toughest years in the industry, so we have to find new and innovative ways to do business. Historically, market share shifts occur in down markets. Positioning your company in a challenging business environment is tougher than ever. I look forward to discussing steps where we are learning to do business in a post COVID-19 environment."
