On the 20th of March 2019, the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) issued a notice of allowance for patent application 16/160,120, which grants Unilin a patent for the combination of a solid polymer core (SPC) with a top layer of melamine-treated paper or wood-veneer. These products are being introduced by many of Unilin’s licensed partners.

“This patent is based on Unilin’s early R&D in the category of waterproof or resilient flooring panels, which started off as early as 2006 and has intensified over the years,” said Bart Van der Stockt of Unilin’s IP division. “The patent complements Unilin’s previously granted rights in the area of WPC and SPC flooring panels.”

Unilin will be showing its innovations at the upcoming Domotex Shanghai exhibition in Hall N3, Stand C15.
