Cali Bamboo has added two new Eucalyptus styles to its Eco-Engineered flooring collection. Engineered planks are frequently a strategic choice, with a layered construction that makes them more dimensionally stable, and therefore better suited for high moisture environments like kitchens, bathrooms, and basements.
The new plank styles measure 48x5 19/32 in. A 2mm thick top wear layer of fossilized eucalyptus adheres to a 8.5mm thick core of eucalyptus plywood and a 1.5mm stabilizing eucalyptus base. Harder, denser flooring delivers better protection against large pets, furniture, and everyday damage. Planks are also protected by a 13 Coat Durability Sealing System, shielding them from pet claws, high heels, and other forms of wear and tear. Both the finish and the flooring itself are backed by a 50-year residential warranty and a 15-year commercial warranty.
Eucalyptus trees are some of the fastest growing plants on Earth and a great raw material source for strong, eco-friendly flooring. Trees can reach full height in as little as 14 years and can then be harvested without harming the plant or surrounding environment. The trimmed segments simply regrow in place, preventing habitat degradation and erosion. Eucalyptus trees need little water to thrive and grow globally in almost any climate, which reduces water consumption and transportation requirements.
A bold, swirling wood grain makes the perfect statement, and rich colors turn up the luxury in any setting. The Fossilized process yields unique patterns, similar to exotic tigerwood. Flooring is available in two color options, Natural and Mocha, which uses a heating process to enhance the wood’s darker tones. As with all Cali products, the new Eucalyptus floors utilize only top quality raw materials and adhesives, ensuring planks are non-toxic and completely safe for the home with low VOCs and no added urea formaldehyde.
