Crystal Lake, Ill. -- Curran Group, the family-owned, privately held corporation that owns Crossville Tile and other companies in asphalt, railroad, paint and distribution, is celebrating its 100-year anniversary this year. The company has a series of events planned to celebrate this important milestone with its employees across North America.
Curran Group’s four subsidiaries will each kick off the 100-year anniversary celebration with an employee picnic this summer. The events will happen at the respective subsidiary headquarters’ locations with Curran Group and Curran Contracting in Crystal Lake, Ill.; Crossville in Crossville, Tenn.; Holland in Crete, Ill.; and Global Finishing Solutions in Osseo, Wis. Each Curran Group company is planning additional recognition of the special anniversary across their offices and within their industries.
From the company’s modest beginnings in 1918 as Metropolitan Ice and Coal in Chicago, Curran Group’s success has depended on the hard work, perseverance, and initiative of its leaders and loyal employees, the company said in a statement. A century of growth is a testament to the Curran family’s dedication to building on the core values of family, partnership, integrity, improvement and respect.
“The foresight of our great grandfather to move from coal distribution into heating oil, set our company on the right trajectory forward,” said Tim Curran, co-president. “We appreciate the leaders before us that had the insight to find great market opportunities and the wisdom to always treat employees, customers and suppliers well.”
Mike Curran, co-president, added, “Our 100 years in business is the result of a very large team effort. We want to thank our many outstanding partners for helping us get to this exciting milestone.”
