Malmö, Sweden -- Hardwood and resilient manufacturer Kährs Group reported a 7% increase in net sales for the second quarter ending June 30, 2018, compared with the same period in 2017. Operating EBITA rose 1% and totalled SEK 76 million (U.S. $8.59 million), corresponding to an operating margin of 9%. Operating profit (EBIT) for the second quarter improved by SEK 24 million (U.S. $2.71 million) and totalled SEK 70 million (U.S. 7.91 million), corresponding to 8.3%. Profit was positively affected by higher net sales, stable overhead and lower items affecting comparability, SEK 6 million during the quarter (U.S. $680,000), the company said.
“The Nordics and Resilient Global segments demonstrated the strongest growth, while sales for the Europe and Other Markets segments declined somewhat,” said Christer Persson, president and CEO. “Overall, we can conclude that 2018 is off to a good start and I confidently look forward to our continued journey.
