Milwaukee, Wis. -- Naturescapes by Teknoflor, a PVC-free resilient flooring product, has received Living Product Challenge (LPC) Petal certification from the International Living Future Institute (ILFI). Teknoflor Naturescapes has received Petal certification as a result of Shannon’s completion of 16 imperatives within the Place, Health and Happiness, Materials, Equity, and Beauty petals. The company has aspirations to achieve full certification with Naturescapes HPD by the end of 2018, which requires meeting established criteria in all twenty imperatives.
The ILFI’s LPC is a product certification program, advocacy tool, and philosophy that defines the most advanced measure of sustainability and transparency in product manufacturing. The Challenge is comprised of twenty imperatives spread across seven performance categories: Place, Water, Energy, Health and Happiness, Materials, Equity, and Beauty.
Teknoflor’s Naturescapes is the brand’s first luxury organic sheet flooring made from organically-derived polyurethane processed from castor oil. This resilient sheet flooring product has the advantages of resilient sheet vinyl, but without the PVC. The product offers twenty-four designs in three distinct styles that can be used together or independently. Naturescapes will be launched to the marketplace and available for specification at NeoCon in June.
