Lancaster, Pa. – Armstrong Flooring plans to expand the territories of three of its distributors as part of its strategy to build partnerships to provide exceptional customer service and support continued growth. The changes, which will become effective in April, include:
J.J. Haines, which currently distributes Armstrong Flooring products primarily in the Mid-Atlantic region, will expand to serve the southeastern U.S., including parts of South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee and the Florida panhandle.
Derr Flooring, which distributes Armstrong Flooring hardwood brands primarily in the Mid-Atlantic, will begin serving parts of northern Virginia with the Bruce brand, in a dual distribution capacity with J.J. Haines.
Ohio Valley Flooring, an Armstrong Flooring distributor in Indiana, Ohio and Kentucky, will expand the territory that it currently serves in western Pennsylvania.
“We are committed to winning with distribution and aligning ourselves with the partners who are best positioned to support our growth strategy,” said Don Maier, Armstrong Flooring president and CEO. “We are excited by J.J. Haines’ ongoing investments in distribution infrastructure and logistics technology, and the level of service and responsiveness it can bring to the independent retailers who sell Armstrong Flooring products. We are equally pleased to reward the exceptional performance and service that Ohio Valley and Derr Flooring deliver for us every day.”
“At the same time, we recognize that this expansion of distributor territories will bring an end to our longtime partnership with William M. Bird,” Maier said. “We value their role in our company’s development over the years and the service they have provided to customers. We look forward to working with our distributor partners over the next few months to ensure a smooth transition. Our goal is to provide innovative flooring products for customers, which supports the growth of retailers, distributors and our own company.”
