Wauwatosa, Wis. -- Bostik has announced The Art of Stone Flooring Design Contest. The competition is open to architects, designers, and other industry trade members and enthusiasts beginning January 23. Due to the success of other design competitions, Bostik decided to launch a stone competition featuring a waterjet-cut and fabricated, natural stone medallion as its key design element.
“Together with our partners, National Tile Contractors Association (NTCA), MGM Resorts International, CODAworx and Creative Edge Master Shop, we are openly inviting those within the stone design sector to get their creative engines in motion ad to come up with their very own, one-of-a-kind masterpiece using a beautiful palette of natural marble,” said Scott Banda, director of marketing and business development, Bostik.
The winning design will be chosen by an panel of judges. The grand prize winner’s creative design will be permanently installed in the lobby of the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas, Nev. The winner will also receive a trip for two to Paris, France valued at $5,000, courtesy of Bostik.
Fairfield, Iowa-based Creative Edge Master Shop, which has designed and fabricated artistic stone creations for 30 years, will produce the stone medallion, measuring 10 ft in diameter. The medallion wll be installed by a NTCA 5-Star tile contractor.
Deadline for proposals is February 28. Semi-finalist selection is March 7. Finalists and the grand prize winner will be selected on March 9. Project installation will take place April 25, and the unveiling is slated for the second week of May.
