The International Surface Event 2018 Preview

Armstrong’s Alterna Plank with Diamond 10 Technology engineered tile is expanding with longer lengths and enhanced durability. The collection offers an array of wood visuals in a new 6˝ x 36˝ groutable form factor. This on-trend size and shape expands the overall Alterna portfolio and is made from one of nature’s hardest substances—cultured diamonds. Diamond 10 Technology makes Alterna plank floors scratch, scuff and stain resistant. It also repels dirt, making clean-up a breeze.
The International Surface Event (TISE), held at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas January 29 to February 1, is the largest North American event serving the floor covering, stone and tile industries. TISE comprises SURFACES, StonExpo/Marmomacc Americas and Tile Expo. Together, these three tradeshows offer new products, hands-on demos, inspiring trends, education and networking.
Education is at the forefront of this year’s show, beginning one day before the exhibits on January 29. Choose from 55+ sessions featuring the hottest topics and industry experts. As an added bonus, most sessions qualify for continuing education credits.
Flooring innovations abound this year. In hard surfaces, we’re seeing advances in multilayer flooring technologies, wider and longer planks, and an ever-growing number of colors and styles to satisfy every design palette. In soft surfaces, we’re seeing more fiber innovations, the ever-elusive chase for the softest carpet and more patterns and colors to satisfy even the fussiest design professional. New installation materials and tools are also helping to ensure that all these new products are installed to the highest technical standards to create beautiful and enduring floors.
