Armstrong Flooring and "Designing Spaces" joined forces to help the family of an injured veteran in the Military Makeover series which premiered on the Lifetime Network.
The show chronicles the renovations of the home of injured veteran, Lance Corporal Michael Adams and his family. Retired Staff Sergeant R. Lee Ermey, “The Gunny,” takes viewers up close and personal to see the step-by-step renovations of several rooms in the house and yard for this deserving family. Each space quickly transforms into what will ultimately be a more comfortable home for the Adams family.
Lance Corporal Michael Adams was injured in Iraq when his vehicle ran over a double stack anti-tank mine. He sustained multiple injuries and was diagnosed with Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and PTSD. Today, he and wife Britiany have two children; eight-year-old Nevaeh and three-year-old Cecelia, who was diagnosed with cerebral palsy and acute Autism. The newest addition to the family is Michael’s service dog, JW, from K9 for Warriors.
“For the Adams home, we had to find a floor that was as tough as an old Marine Drill Instructor, one that’s going to stand up to ‘a long campaign’, a service dog and a growing family,” said Art Edmonds, co-host of "Designing Spaces."
Armstrong's Vivero luxury flooring was used in the makeover. Award-winning Vivero, featuring patent-pending Diamond 10 Technology made with cultured diamonds, offers beauty that will stand the test of time and traffic and keep floors looking newer, longer. The floor planks repel spills and resist dirt and staining. The planks are 100% waterproof, pet friendly and kid friendly. Patent-pending IntegriLock system assures easy, reliable installation. And, the floors are made at the company's newest manufacturing facility in Lancaster, Pa.
“These floors are beautiful, with the look of rustic hardwood and they will stand up to the demands of an active family and pets,” said Jeremy Kleinberg, Armstrong product manager. “Not only are the products durable enough to handle the normal activity and wear and tear, but they are incredibly easy to clean and are waterproof, making cleaning up after the family easy and hassle free. Vivero even carries a pet-friendly warranty.”
Armstrong Flooring worked closely with the "Designing Spaces" team to find flooring options that fit the family’s lifestyle. The crew from local Orlando, Fla., retailer Creative Floors came in and installed the flooring throughout the entire home in less than two days. Creative Floors went above and beyond to make this project a huge success.
“We share a strong commitment to supporting veterans who have served our country," said Kleinberg. "Armstrong Flooring also is the exclusive flooring supplier to Homes for Our Troops, a national non-profit organization that builds mortgage-free, specially adapted homes for severely injured veterans.”
