Imports continue to garner an ever-increasing share of the wood floor products being sold to consumers, according to the just-completed 2004 Hardwood Flooring Market Study conducted by National Floor Trends magazine in conjunction with the market research division of BNP Media. And, our respondents have more quality issues from domestic materials (65 percent) compared to imported materials, 35 percent.
Even with lower attendance than last year's show, the just-completed Surfaces 2004 show was a success for Hanley-Wood Exhibitions, its exhibitors and show attendees. The show showed its strength and importance to the industry.

Flooring dealers/contractors are selling more hardwood floor jobs each month in 2003, according to results from a just-completed Hardwood Flooring Market Trends Study conducted by National Floor Trends magazine in partnership with the market research division of BNP Media. Dealers are now selling an average of 11 hardwood floors each month, compared to nine monthly hardwood sales in 2002.
The ceramic and stone tile segment of the floor covering product mix is expected to grow by over 17 percent in the next 18 months (see chart 1), according to floor covering retailers/contractors responding to a just-completed study conducted by National Floor Trends magazine in partnership with the market research department of Business News Publishing Co.
