Armstrong World Industries has disclosed that Chan W. Galbato, president and CEO of Armstrong Floor Products, will leave the company to pursue other opportunities.

The Dixie Group Inc. has reported net income of $1.4 million, or $0.12 per diluted share, for the second quarter ended June 28, 2003, compared with net income of $3.0 million, or $0.25 per diluted share, for the prior-year period.

Solutia Inc. has reported a second quarter loss of $21 million, or 20 cents per share, on net sales of $611 million.

Following in the steps of Mohawk, Shaw, Congoleum and Columbia Flooring, Armstrong has decided to bow out of Surfaces 2004.
