Participating Carpet One stores throughout the U.S. and Canada are selling specially designed welcome mats featuring depictions of the famous "pink ribbon" signifying breast cancer awareness.

In a move aimed at increasing the company's overall recycling capacity, Shaw Industries announced it has signed an agreement with DSM Chemicals North America to purchase complete ownership of Evergreen Nylon Recycling LLC, a nylon recycling plant in Augusta, Ga. Shuttered in 2001, Evergreen was previously owned jointly by Honeywell and DSM.
Rug maker Saravieh has signed an agreement with Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia (MSLO) to launch a line of Martha Stewart area rugs. Plans call for the distinctive floor coverings, which will complement the existing Martha Stewart Signature furniture line, to debut at the Atlanta International Area Rug Market in January 2007 and be ready for retail in Spring 2007.
At Tarkett Commercial's NeoCon exhibit, fashion won't stop at the floors. Renowned interior designer Karim Rashid will be on hand to give out scarves and ties featuring his designs at NeoCon booth #7-2122. Rashid, who also designed the Tarkett Commercial exhibit, plans to greet guests and answer questions from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 13.
In an effort to hold down costs and secure "greater financial flexibility," Interface, Inc. said it has sold its European fabrics division, Camborne Holdings, for about $28 million. In addition, the Atlanta-based carpet manufacturer plans to shutter a plant in East Douglas, Mass. and integrate those operations into a facility in Elkin, N.C.
In a move the company calls "a significant addition for us," Mullican Flooring has reached an agreement with Southeast Hardwood to distribute Mullican's hardwood flooring throughout the Gulf South region.
