GDP jumps in first quarter

WASHINGTON--The Commerce Department recently reported that the economy grew in the first quarter at the fastest pace in more than two years.

The Gross Domestic Product grew at a 5.8% annual rate in the first quarter. The rate marks the strongest GDP growth since the fourth quarter of 1999.
