The Marble Institute of America (MIA)+Building Stone Institute (BSI) will present the “Best Use of Carrara Marble in North America” Marble Architecture Award at the 33rd Carrara Marmomtec International Fair of Marble, Technologies and Design.
The award is sponsored by Internazionale Marmi e Macchine Carrara Spa (IMM), and the award winner will receive round-trip economy airfare and complimentary lodging for four nights while attending the Carrara Marmotec International Fair. The award winner will be featured in a special ceremony during the fair and will be displayed on the MIA+BSI website.
The “Best Use of Carrara Marble in North America” Marble Architecture Award is open to all MIA+BSI member companies. Project teams must include at least one MIA+BSI member company. Projects submitted must comply with standards as defined in the Dimension Stone Design Manual and other association technical modules. To be eligible, projects must have been completed within the past five years (January 2011 through December 2015). Multiple entries are accepted and encouraged.
An independent panel of judges will evaluate the entries. Entries will be judged on implementation of the design, quality, and craftsmanship of the fabrication and installation. Creative solutions to logistic or technical challenges unique to the project will influence the judging of the projects.
All entries must be received by 5 p.m. EST on Friday, March 18.
