HardieBacker Cement Board by James Hardie Building Products is the most preferred brand of backer board for floor and wall tile installation contractors, according to a national survey of tile and stone installation contractors conducted by Clear Seas Research in partnership with the National Tile Contractors Association (NTCA) and TILE magazine.

The purpose of the study was to identify the brands primarily used and preferred among more than 34,000 tile and stone installation contractors. Results from the study revealed that contractors selected HardieBacker cement board because of its quality, availability and ease of installation.

More than one-third (37%) of respondents chose HardieBacker cement board as their preferred backer board for floor and wall tile installations, making it the highest overall ranked product.
