Since spring 2015, the Quick-Step Impressive Ultra laminate flooring by Unilin, a manufacturer of MDF, clipboard, roofing elements, shelving and laminate floors, has been the basis of the interior design concept for the De Terrine catering service and delicatessen shop in the Belgian town of Waregem.
The successful product had earlier been recognized with the 2015 Innovations@DOMOTEX label at the world’s leading trade fair for carpets and flooring.
De Terrine, a catering service and delicatessen shop located in the Flemish town of Waregem, has recently moved to a new address. The new 300-sqm retail space has been completely refurbished. The shop’s special appeal is defined by cast-iron window frames, high wood and metal cabinets.
“A modern interior with a warm and cozy ambience–a fantastic mix,” says owner Katrien Vandezande. Looking for both beautiful and hardwearing flooring for her new shop, Vandezande selected the natural oak-effect Quick-Step laminate by Unilin.
In the old De Terrine shop, the floor showed signs of heavy wear and tear, which is why Vandezande selected a durable, low maintenance flooring whose design would complement the new shop’s interior style. Due to a technology where the joints are pressed into the surface structure during production, the entire product range is absolutely resistant to water and other liquids.
The protective and water-repellent ‘HydroSeal’ coating prevents even the tiniest drops of water from seeping into the joints between the planks: a crucial requirement for use in the delicatessen shop. The water-repellent and natural-looking Quick-Step Impressive Ultra laminate flooring by Unilin received the 2015 Innovations@DOMOTEX label in the ‘parquet and laminate flooring’ category.
The Belgian company will again exhibit its products at DOMOTEX 2016. State-of-the art flexible laminate flooring is just one example of the many options in contemporary floor coverings from which architects and designers can choose today.
