Tec Skill Set has added a UL-approved floor warming system to its product line of tile installation materials.

According to the company, In-Floor Heat is an innovative solution to previously difficult-to-install heating systems. With its infrared radiant heat technology, the product allows tile contractors to efficiently install a heating system with uniform warmth underneath tile and stone floors with the assistance of a licensed electrician.

“To add luxury, Tec Skill Set In-Floor Heat can be installed in residential and commercial indoor areas,” said a company representative. “It comes in three kits to accommodate various room sizes. Each kit includes a heat mat with attached wire harnesses, scissors and edge sealing tape. The heat mat features no embedded wires or coils. Tile contractors can easily cut the mat to fit the space, and seal the edges with tape conveniently provided within the kit to ensure uniform warmth. Multiple mats may lay side-by-side for even heat distribution across large surface areas, like a master bathroom. And at less than 1/64-inch thick, the mat will not change the height of the floor—a crucial detail when dealing with spaces near doorways and where two rooms meet.”

According to the company, In-Floor Heat comes with a limited lifetime system warranty when the product is installed with Tec's Skill Set mortar and grout. Currently, it is available at select Lowe’s stores.
