A new online business strategy training series now available through the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) will benefit both seasoned practitioners and emerging professionals, according to the organization.

Business Strategy Solutions, a series of four CEU-accredited courses developed by professional author and educator Steve Nobel of Nobelinks, focuses on the key steps to building a successful practice. The downloadable, on-demand content explores the principles of developing a successful business plan, attracting and growing a profitable client base, gaining project management skills and tips for sustaining long-term financial performance.

“These courses offer business knowledge that is equally valuable for small to mid-sized practices wanting to take their success to the next level and for designers just starting out,” said Randy Fiser, ASID's CEO. “Because everything is available online, it’s convenient and flexible for busy professionals and provides them the option to attend classes no matter what their work schedule."

According to Fiser, the Business Strategy Solutions series' topics include attracting clients, setting intentions, managing projects and sustaining practices.

In other news, the ASID Foundation opened nominations for its annual Joel Polsky Prize. This $5,000 award recognizes individuals who have made an academic contribution to interior design through print and digital communication. This year, ASID is seeking submissions focusing on the impact of design on health and wellness.

Eligible submissions for the Polsky Prize include books, ebooks, white papers, blogs and videos. Entries must address the needs of the public, designers, or students on topics such as educational research, behavioral science, business practices, design process, theory, or other technical subjects.
