Shaw Industries has been ranked No. 8 out of 500 companies named to Forbes’ list of America’s Best Employers.
More than 20,000 employees at companies with at least 2,500 people were surveyed for the America’s Best Employers List. The survey was conducted with global digital data collection partners who use innovative technology and proven sampling methodologies to facilitate a deep understanding of consumer opinions and behavior. Participation in the survey was voluntary, and respondents were recruited from thousands of sources to maximize reach and representation.
Shaw is the highest rated manufacturing employer and the only ranked company within the floor covering industry.
“Our ability to attract and retain the best possible people and to help them achieve their highest potential is key to remaining competitive in an ever-evolving, fast-changing global economy and a key factor in realizing Shaw’s vision of creating a better future,” said Vance Bell, chairman and CEO of Shaw. “This prestigious designation speaks volumes about our commitment to continually respond to the changing needs of our associates, while participating in a competitive business environment.”
According to Bell, Shaw's ranking reflects the company’s focus on people. By regularly soliciting feedback from both hourly and salaried associates, it remains cognizant of the needs and concerns of its workforce and adjusts or develops programs as necessary.
“Many initiatives, from our nationally recognized training program to the recently launched Women’s Innovation Network, have been developed as a result of careful listening to our associates,” said Paul Richard, Shaw's vice president of human resources. “Our approach to talent management aims to align all our people processes with Shaw’s business objectives and creates even greater opportunity, transparency and clarity for our people.”
