William Blue, Jr. has been appointed to The Dixie Group's board of directors.

“The board is increasing its size from nine to 10 members and has appointed William (Bill) Blue to fill the vacancy," said Daniel Frierson, Dixie’s chairman and CEO.

Blue is currently vice chairman of investment banking and capital markets of Wells Fargo Securities, based in Charlotte, N.C.—a position from which he will resign effective Nov. 14, to head the Hopeway Foundation of Charlotte, N.C.

Blue will stand for re-election at the 2015 annual meeting of stockholders.
