W.F. Taylor Co. has introduced the TruRenew Premium Bio-Renewable Adhesive product line.

The first type of adhesive to be released under the TruRenew product line is a pressure sensitive adhesive; scientifically engineered for the interior permanent or releasable installation of modular carpet tiles, vinyl backed carpet, solid vinyl tiles, and pad to substrate in a double stick installation, according to the company. TruRenew pressure sensitive adhesive is Cradle to Cradle Certified at the Silver level.

According to the company, TruRenew’s bio-renewable properties surpassed the four most rigorous third party certification programs in the industry for strict low indoor air chemical emission levels: Cradle to Cradle Certified Products Program, UL’s Greenguard Certification Program, Carpet & Rug Institute (CRI) Green Label Plus Program and Resilient Floor Covering Institute’s (RFCI) and Scientific Certification Systems (SCS Global) joint FloorScore Program. Products bearing these certifications give installers the ability to meet the criteria of LEED, CHPS, Green Guide for Health Care, the U.S. EPA, and many more green/environmental building credit programs.

“Keeping true to Taylor's commitment to produce environmentally friendly products, we continue to lead the industry with our newest and most advanced flooring adhesive line,” said Jack Raidy, CEO and president of the company. “Taylor has been anticipating this moment for some time now, in 2010 we were awarded a patent for our bio-source technology but without the bio-source material available we patiently waited. When the time was right we partnered with some of the world’s leading chemical companies, to bring this product to fruition.”

According to Barry Wright, W.F. Taylor's executive vice president, by supplying the industry with TruRenew’s environmentally certified technology the company hopes to help the industry, by not just meeting but exceeding sustainability goals. “Taylor looks forward to supplying this product to the entire industry allowing us to spread our new bio-renewable technology,” he said. “Our customers have been asking for this type of technology more and more as builders are seeking to lower their environmental impact.”
