Philadelphia Floor Store (PFS) has teamed with the National Wood Floor Association (NWFA) to offer customized training to hardwood floor contractors.
The flooring distributor will host the following technical education workshops and events this fall at its showroom in Conshohocken, Pa.:
Finish Application/Color Workshop (Thursday, 9/25)
The workshop will address jobsite chemical treatments to achieve a certain look, the application of oils, waxes, stains, dyes, acid cures, site cured UV finishes and common finish problems. Attendees will receive hands-on training for various finish application methods.
Machine Maintenance Workshop (Friday, 9/26)
This workshop will offer contractors the opportunity to bring their flooring tools and sanding equipment to learn first-hand how to perform routine jobsite maintenance. Qualified attendees will earn NFWA credits—one degree credit, as well as one CEU credit will be awarded per workshop. Hardwood floor contractors attending both training sessions will have an opportunity to earn a total of 4 credits.
The registration fee is $199 per workshop, or $250 for both.
According to Mike Glavin, founder of PFS, “NWFA is well known for the quality of its training programs, and these in-depth workshops are no exception. As a company, we are always on the lookout for opportunities that will help us better serve our customers and what better way than to provide training from an industry leader like NWFA.”
In addition to the training workshops, there is also an open house on Thursday, Sept. 25 at 5 p.m. The informal event will provide contractors the opportunity to see product demonstrations from NWFA manufacturers and meet with fellow hardwood floor industry experts.
The Finish Application/Color workshop will run from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.. on Sept. 25 and the Machine Maintenance workshop will take place on Sept. 26 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
