Tony Malisani of Marble Institute of America (MIA) Accredited Natural Stone Fabricator, Malisani, located in Great Falls, Mont., has been elected president of the MIA.
Tony Malisani is an owner of a third generation, family-owned specialty contracting company and natural stone fabrication shop. He has been working in the natural stone industry for over 25 years and his company, Malisani Inc., completes ceramic tile, terrazzo, and dimension stone projects of all sizes and types. Tony previously served on the MIA Accreditation Development Committee. His firm is one of the first companies in the nation to receive the coveted "Accredited Natural Stone Fabricator" credential. Malisani. was named the 2009 Montana General Contractors Association Specialty Contractor of the Year. Tony has experience in every facet of the stone business and has a passion for natural stone and all of its beautiful applications.
At the same time of Malisani's election, Dan Rea of Coldspring in Cold Spring, Minn. was selected as vice president; David Castellucci of Kenneth Castellucci & Associates of Lincoln, R.I., as secretary; and Jon Lancto of Surface Products in Cornelius, N.C. as treasurer. The officers assumed office during StonExpo/Marmomacc Americas in Las Vegas during the MIA Annual Meeting.
The MIA also elected three new members to the association’s Board of Directors. David Carnevale of Carnevale & Lohr in Bell Gardens, Calif was chosen to represent Zone 7 (Pacific: Alaska, California, Hawaii, Nevada, Oregon, and Washington); Brenda Edwards of TexaStone Quarries in Garden City, Texas was selected to represent Zone 5 (Mid-South: Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma, and Texas); and Robert Zavagno, Jr. of the Cleveland Marble Mosaic Company in Cleveland was selected to fill an At-Large position on the board.
