Mohawk Group has partnered with the International Living Future Institute (ILFI) as one of the organization’s Transformative sponsors.

The ILFI is an international vision for community-driven transformation that offers green building and infrastructure solutions, global strategies for lasting sustainability, and administers the Living Building Challenge. As one of the Transformative sponsors, Mohawk Group will work with the ILFI to promote the Living Building Challenge, a green building certification program that defines the most advanced measure of sustainability for architecture and interior design. Sharing the same values in sustainability, Mohawk Group and ILFI are committed to working together to educate and promote the institute’s revolutionary ideas.

“We’re continually raising the bar for our corporation when it comes to putting our sustainability strategy into action,” said Rochelle Routman, director of sustainability at Mohawk Group. “We’ve been searching for an aspirational organization where we could be part of a global community whose focus is on human activity that allows for restoration and the continued diversification of life on our planet – and the ILFI is the organization where we can really help to make a difference.”

The Transformative sponsorship is a first step in the company’s participation with the ILFI demonstrating Mohawk Group’s commitment to the Living Building Challenge. Both the ILFI and Mohawk Group have recently developed a continuing education unit (CEU) course for architects and designers that is currently in the approval process by the United States Green Building Council (USGBC), the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and the International Interior Design Association (IIDA). The presentation focuses on the Living Building Challenge Standard.

"I am very pleased that Mohawk has sponsored the work of the Institute at the Transformative level,” said Richard Graves, executive director of the International Living Future Institute. “We look forward to partnering with them to support the promotion and development of healthy building products."
