Columbia is currently launching three brand new collections. Columbia’s new products are predicted to be strong sellers, offering consumers attractive, quality products, with a good price/value relationship.
The new engineered Ashlynn Collection offers authenticity, texture, and timeworn looks with wire-brushed surfaces, prominent graining, and rich colors. Columbia’s new solid Pembridge Collection offers multi-width planks, the rustic elegance of soft-scraped surface texturing, a multi-step staining process, and prominent graining. Pembridge features SuperiorShield Surface Technology which helps protect against grime, allows for easier cleanup, and helps retain the finish of the floors. The new engineered Beckham Collection combines the sophistication of domestic exotic species with a flat surface and fashionable stains inspired by high-style design. All Columbia hardwood products are “Made in the USA”.
“Customers should definitely experience success with these new products,” said Harry Bogner, senior vice president of hardwood for Unilin, Columbia’s parent company. “Columbia’s 2013 launch includes the highest levels of product innovation, fresh design, rich visuals, and sophisticated texture. Our company’s leading-edge manufacturing technologies enable us to continue offering stunning products, while still keeping prices within a consumer’s budget.”
New Ashlynn Collection (Engineered, Wire-Brushed, T & G, FloorScore Certified)
The new Ashlynn Collection lends character to a room with its wire-brushed surfaces, prominent graining, and rich colors. Ashlynn’s Hickory and Oak engineered products are offered in both fashion-driven and mainstream colors with a matte finish. Shade variation is high. The combination of these aesthetic features brings a rustic elegance to a room.
Sculpted edges and eased ends frame each side of the 3/8” thick, engineered planks. Ashlynn’s 5” wide, random length planks are manufactured with our highly durable urethane aluminum oxide finish and are backed by a 25-year surface wear warranty as well as a limited lifetime warranty for both moisture and structure.
The 4 Oak SKUs have a photosensitivity rating of 2 while the Hickories’ photosensitivity rating is 3. Ashlynn features a hardness rating of 1820 for the Hickories and 1290 for the Oaks.
“Made in the USA” engineered products can be installed on or above ground, using a traditional tongue and groove (T & G) format via several installation options: glue, staple, nail, or floating.
Like all of Columbia’s domestically manufactured engineered products, the Ashlynn character products are produced using PureBond engineered flooring technology resulting in “no added formaldehyde”, providing hardwood flooring that meets strict formaldehyde emissions standards that many other brands do not meet.
In addition, the new Ashlynn Collection has earned the coveted FloorScore certification by passing the indoor air quality certification tests. The FloorScore certified Ashlynn floors meet criteria required by a variety of well-respected organizations such as the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), the Collaborative for High Performance Schools (CHPS), and the Green Guide for Health Care. Ashlynn’s FloorScore certified products contribute to the earning of LEED points for projects under The U.S. Green Building Council’s (USGBC) LEED v3 Commercial Interiors and New Construction and Major Renovations program.
All Columbia hardwood products are Lacey Act compliant.
New Pembridge Collection (Solid, Soft-Scraped, T & G, SuperiorShield)
Pembridge’s solid multi-width planks offer the rustic elegance of a hand-scraped floor and are available in a variety of the most popular species and colors to meet consumers’ design needs. Swirling knots and prominent graining enhanced by a multi-step staining process combine with subtle, soft-scraped surface texturing to create the new Pembridge Collection.
The new collection features SuperiorShield Surface Technology which helps protect against grime, allows for easier cleanup, and helps retain the finish of the floors. The collection’s 4 matte SKUs include popular domestic exotics, a Hickory and two Maples, as well as an Oak. Planks feature medium/high to high shade variation. The Hickory’s photosensitivity rating is 3, while both Maple and Oak have a photosensitivity rating of 2. Hardness ratings are 1820 for Hickory, 1450 for the Maples, and 1290 for the Oak. Pembridge features sculpted plank edges and ends on random multi-width
(3 ¼” and 5” wide), ¾” thick, random length solid hardwood planks.
All of Columbia hardwood is Lacey Act compliant. Pembridge is offered in the traditional tongue and groove (T & G) format and can be installed on or above grade level via either a staple or nail installation method. This “Made in the USA” collection is manufactured with our highly durable urethane aluminum oxide coating and is backed by a 25-year surface wear warranty.
New Beckham Collection (Engineered, Flat, T & G, FloorScore Certified)
The new engineered Beckham Collection combines the sophistication of domestic exotic species with fashionable stains inspired by high-style design. Color options include unique gray and chocolate tones along with more traditional stains for broad appeal. Beckham is available in 6 Maples and 3 Hickories with a matte finish. Last year, Columbia launched a “solid” Beckham Collection, so 2013’s launch of the new “engineered” Beckham Collection means the same colors are now available to consumers in both solid and engineered hardwood.
Planks have a flat surface texture and shade variations ranging from medium to high. Beckham’s engineered Maples have a photosensitivity rating of 2 and the new Hickories’ photosensitivity rating is a 3. These 3/8” thick engineered hardwood planks come in a 5” width. Eased edges and ends frame the random length planks. Beckham’s new “Made in the USA” engineered products can be installed on or above ground, using a traditional tongue and groove (T & G) format via several installation options: glue, staple, nail, or floating.
Columbia has invested in technologies such as the PureBond technology used in the production of the new Beckham SKUs to produce its engineered hardwood in a way that does not add formaldehyde to the floors, providing hardwood flooring that meets strict formaldehyde emissions standards that many other brands do not meet.
In addition, the new Beckham SKUs have earned the coveted FloorScore certification by passing the most stringent indoor air quality certification tests in the world. Beckham’s FloorScore certified products contribute to the earning of LEED points for projects under The U.S. Green Building Council’s (USGBC) LEED v3 Commercial Interiors and New Construction and Major Renovations program.
