Arley Wholesale, Inc., a family-owned, third generation wholesale supplier of tile and stone headquartered in Scranton, PA, has opened up a full-service distribution/warehousing facility in Greensboro, North Carolina. The firm will begin delivery from that location using its our own fleet of trucks on March 25th.
According to Scott Levy, Arley Executive Vice President of Operations, "We will be delivering in stages, in concentric circles from Greensboro out. We want to make sure we are doing everything correctly. Frankly, we are giving our customers what they asked for, as for years, those in that region wanted us to have a local presence. Historically, they love doing business with Arley, but up until now they couldn't buy all of their sundry items along with the tile because of freight on common carriers. They also wanted to make sure that we were long-term players in the marketplace. Opening a regional distribution center gives them what they have requested."
Once this location is fully operational, customers will be able to place an order by 3:00PM and have it delivered either the next day or the day after (depending on their specific delivery day and branch in which the material is inventoried). Levy added, "We will start with 1X per week delivery; this will increase as the business demands. Our customers can now enjoy the benefits of purchasing all of their needs through one source. This cuts down their freight costs, hassle of trying to coordinate shipments and gives them the opportunity to see inventory online, order online and manage their account 24/7."
The new facility will be supervised by long-time Arley employees, Tim Ruscoe, manager, and Pat Carter, assistant manager.
