Hunter Douglas Inc. announced recently that it has acquired the assets of Designer Blinds, a longtime fabricator and distributor of Hunter Douglas custom products, based in Omaha and serving retail dealers in Nebraska and surrounding states.
Designer Blinds will continue regular operations until the end of 2012, at which time the business will be merged into the Fabrication Division of Hunter Douglas. Some key Designer Blinds sales and support staff will continue to serve in their previous roles after the transition.
Steve Woodworth, Designer Blinds owner and President, will remain with Hunter Douglas for a period of time to help assure the effective and orderly transition of the business. His father, Lloyd “Woody” Woodworth and Warren “Ed” Dale founded the business over 26 years ago, with the close support of Hunter Douglas. Ed retired after a few years and Woody continued to build and expand the organization, establishing Designer Blinds as a fabricator of Hunter Douglas products, with a well-deserved reputation for providing quality, service and support to its customers.
“We are pleased to acquire this exceptional company,” said Marv Hopkins, Hunter Douglas President and CEO. “We are most appreciative of what our great friends, Steve and Woody, and the entire Designer Blinds team have accomplished over the years. Hunter Douglas and our Fabrication Division, led by Randy Liken, are firmly committed to a smooth and successful transition and to providing outstanding service and support to the Designer Blinds customers.”
