UFLOOR Systems, Inc. announced recently that its parent company, Uzin-Utz AG (Ulm, Germany), will build its first U.S. factory for manufacturing specialty leveling compounds, floor patches and tile-setting materials and is planning for initial production beginning in the 3rd quarter of 2014. Site selection and raw material analysis have already begun this year with groundbreaking tentatively planned for the 3rd quarter of 2013. “This is the next logical step for us as our sales success over these last 24 months has been tremendous”, says UFLOOR Systems president Matthias Liebert. “This new facility will provide an even higher level of service and support to our expanding customer base”. The new production facility will also be designed to provide for future expansion of the other Uzin-Utz brands into the North American flooring market as well as providing space for a U.S.-based R&D facility. The $7 million dollar investment will initially create 20 new U.S.-based jobs in addition to the work created by the building construction itself. UFLOOR Systems markets its products under the brand names: Pallmann (finishes & floor care), Uzin (subfloor preparation products), Wolff (hardwood floor sanding machines), Codex (tile setting materials), Arturo (resin flooring systems) and RZ (floor cleaning products).
