FCICA, the Flooring Contractors Association, announced that they plan to host 9 webinars this year to help educate their members and the industry colleagues on pertinent flooring topics. “We are very excited to be able to offer these webinars from leaders in our industry on a great variety of topics” said Executive Vice President Kimberly Oderkirk. Topics will include ASTM Standards, How to Avoid Ceramic Tile and Stone Installation Problems Through Training, Creating an Effective Entrance System and Sustainable Design, The Fascinating World of Cork, Recycled Rubber Flooring, Concrete Moisture Testing Update, Multi-Use Sport Flooring Options, and 2 others TBD. The first webinar will take place on Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at 11 am Eastern Time and will be on ASTM Standards by Christopher Capobianco of Spartan Surfaces.
ASTM Standards are referenced in virtually every industry in North America and the floor covering industry is no different. This can be confusing for flooring contractors, installers and manufacturer’s reps alike because there are a lot of acronyms and numbers getting thrown around. Christopher is a 19 year veteran of the ASTM Resilient Flooring Committee, where a lot of standards for products and concrete originated. Information and registration for this webinar and all others hosted by FCICA can be found on their website at www.fcica.com.
