Välinge has successfully defended a patent against Spanolux SA in appeal proceedings on May 9, 2012 before the Board of Appeal. The Board of Appeal set aside the decision of the Opposition Division and decided to maintain the patent in amended form. The decision is final and cannot be appealed.
The maintained patent protects floorboards provided with a so-called Tongue Loc that can be assembled by angling. The Tongue Loc can be produced with low waste and with high speed by large milling tools. The patent is based on a priority document from Jan. 12, 2001.
Välinge now has 13 patents that have successfully passed an opposition or an opposition appeal at the EPO.
