TORLYS Inc. has reinvented its entire line of eco-friendly cork floors to include 40 distinctive styles, some in almost six foot lengths, and FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certification for its entire collection.

TORLYS smart floors has introduced cork floors in two plank collections, (Florence and Classic) in its recently adopted good/better/best, (Premier/Elite/Designer) selling format. Each collection is marketed according to style, construction and price point.

The new styling includes on-trend colours, thicker planks and extra-long planks measuring almost 6 ft. Florence Designer is the signature collection, featuring the longest and thickest bevelled planks (68-3/4”l x 7-1/2”w x 5/8”t), and are offered in 10 styles. Florence Elite comes in 10 bevelled plank styles measuring (45-13/16”l x 7-1/2”w x 1/2”t), and Florence Premier, the value collection, is also offered in 10 styles, measuring 36”l x 7-1/2”w x 3/8”t.

The Classic collection has been created for those who prefer seamless square-edge, clean design in two collections: Classic Elite offers five styles in wider bevelled planks measuring (36”l x 12”w x 1/2”t), and Classic Premier, the other value collection that comes in five styles measuring 36”l x 12”w x 3/8”t.

“This new cork collection offers styling and performance benefits in a variety of price points, which we believe will be attractive to many, from value-conscious to forward-thinking, design-oriented consumers. This is by far the most striking cork collection we have ever introduced,” said Brian Gencher, vice president of marketing.

The entire TORLYS cork floor collection has attained FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certification, a valued endorsement for the eco-friendly nature of these floors. The performance attributes of the entire collection have been improved to now include TORLYS Smart Finish, the most durable finish TORLYS has ever offered with a 50% improvement in wear resistance. Also introduced with this launch is TORLYS CorkPlus attached cork underlay. CorkPlus includes Microban antimicrobial protection, which helps eliminate mold and mildew. CorkPlus will be introduced to almost all TORLYS Smart Floors, including hardwood, leather and TerraWood hybrid floors.

TORLYS has also introduced the TORLYS Solo Plus 5-in-1 molding; a reducer, T-molding, square nose and flush mount for stairs – all in one profile. The new cork collection will have 40 color-coordinated moldings to guarantee a match for every style.

The new TORLYS cork collection will be available at retail across Canada in June 2012.
