Cooper recognized by The Clean Trust
The Clean Trust (formerly the Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification) named Larry Cooper recipient of the Cy Gantt Award at the October Clean Trust Certification Council meeting in Vancouver, Wash.
Established in 2008, the Cy Gantt Award is named after the late Cy Gantt, the first recipient of the award and a longtime supporter and honorary board member of The Clean Trust. The award is given in recognition of exceptional contribution of time and service to the inspection, cleaning and restoration industry. Cooper is the second recipient to receive the award.
“This Cy Gannt Award is a testimony to Larry’s commitment to the organization,” said immediate past Chairman Paul Pearce, who presented the award to Cooper. “We’re honored that he has been part of the evolution of the organization and look forward to his continued contributions in moving the S600 and S800 forward.”
Cooper’s service to the industry spans three decades. As a volunteer for The Clean Trust, Cooper has held numerous positions including president and chairman of the board, chairman of the certification council, chairman of the instructors and schools committee, chairman of the standards committee and standards consultant. Throughout his various roles, Cooper has been instrumental in the development of every The Clean Trust standard to date and continues to work on the S600 Carpet Installation Standard and the S800 Carpet Inspectors Standard and Reference Guide, which are currently under development.
