P.J. McGuire is widely credited as the founder of Labor Day. He also founded the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, the group that developed the curriculum used to train INSTALL professionals.
"The organization has matured from its start as a union training program in about 10 cities to one that has expanded to the south, west, northwest, and Canada, hosts over 100 industry partners, holds key seats on ANSI committees, was requested by IFMA to help author a green sustainability white paper, and developed a certification program that specifiers are referencing in their construction documents," noted Michello Merlo, INSTALL spokeswoman.
