The National Wood Flooring Association and the Flooring Inspectors Educational Guild will present a class for wood flooring professionals at the NWFA's headquarters in St. Louis, May 31-June 2.
The class, part of the North Carolina State University Extension continuing education seminars, is open to all members of the wood flooring industry, including installers, manufacturers, distributors, retailers and inspectors. The three-day course will show attendees how to apply wood science to the hardwood flooring business and will be taught by instructors from NCSU.
The instructors are:

Dr. Joe Denig, a kiln dry industry expert, published author and acknowledged as one of the foremost experts on drying defects and solving kiln dry problems for flooring, lumber and furniture companies. He has over 28 years experience in the wood industry.
Dr. Dave Tilotta, who works with educational programs and provides assistance for sustainable wood housing and construction in North Carolina. He is also an expert in mold and moisture issues in relation to home construction.
Dr. Tony Lapasha, who has over 27 years experience in testing wood flooring products for wood flooring manufacturers in the Hodges Wood Laboratory at NCSU. He will share his insight into testing procedures and how they are of importance to flooring inspectors, manufacturers, retailers and installers.
The class qualifies for matching World Floor Covering Association Scholarship Funds up to 50%. The NWFA also recognizes the class for Continuing Education Credits.
The tuition is $495.00. The size of the class will be limited. Contact Lee Tucker at the Flooring Inspectors Educational Guild (slt7@charter.net) or call (864) 238-5507 for more information.
