Adairsville, GA March 16,
2012- Home Legend, a leading supplier of hardwood, bamboo, laminate, cork and
luxury vinyl flooring, was one of six national flooring manufacturers who
participated in a first-ever recycling effort following the January 2012 Surfaces/StonExpo/Marmomacc
Americas in Las Vegas.
The Adairsville, GA-based
company donated 5,400 square feet of flooring product used in its Surfaces
display to a joint venture organized by two not-for-profit organizations,
Mountain Re-Source Center and Tile Partners for Humanity, to benefit multiple
families and community improvement efforts.
The recycling initiative,
which focused on post-show product donations at the close of the three-day event,
exceeded all expectations, say organizers. Approximately 200,000 square feet of
material filled three 50-foot semitrailers to capacity. The success generated
by this inaugural effort is prompting show organizers to make the recycling
effort an annual Surfaces feature.
“We are happy to have
taken part in this first-ever event, knowing our donations will benefit
others,” says Jamann Stepp, Home Legend Vice President, Sales and Marketing.
“The choice to donate ourproduct is an example of our social commitment and our
environmental stewardship.
