The recent Domotex Asia/Chinafloor in Shanghai featured the show's largest turnout yet, with 1,060 exhibitors and 39,343 visitors on hand for the three-day event. The show also featured 107,100 sq. meters of exhibit space, a 15 percent increase compared to last year.
“The spectacular increase of pre-registration figures, up 80 percent over last year’s pre-registration figures, signaled to us that the attendance would this year be extremely business-focused,” said Kitty Bai, Domotex Asia/Chinafloor show director.
“The energy of this show has been fantastic. The mood is positive with both products and people focused on the future,” noted Jim Gould, president of the Floor Covering Institute and strategic director of this year's Wood Flooring Forum. The Forum gathered 350 industry patrons for breakout sessions for both Eastern and Western buyers.
Additionally, organized for the first time at Domotex Asia/Chinafloor, the ABBS Sustainable Building Design and Technology Forum attracted more than 300 renowned architects to discuss the topic “Regeneration of Green Building.”
“It seems that environmental care is becoming a motto for many manufacturers and is shaping the new products and application we can see on the show floor this year,” observed Wang Xiaoyu, marketing director of Power Dekor.
Thomas Baert, president of Chinafloors/Lamett added, “The many new product launches during Domotex Asia/Chinafloor and the enormous growth of the show has made this event a not to be missed event for everyone in our industry. Whether you want to do business in Asia Pacific or anywhere else in the world, this is the place to get a full overview of what is going on.”
David Zhong, president of VNU Exhibitions Asia, said organizers were already hard at work to improve next year's Domotex Asia/Chinafloor show. “we will work towards shaping additional education and networking events to next year’s program, such as a bamboo focused summit,” he noted.
The next edition of the show will be held at Shanghai New International Exhibition Center, March 27-29, 2012.
