Zeftron nylon has announced the launch of its third annual Sustainable Practices Award. The award recognizes facility, architecture and design professionals who employ and utilize innovative sustainable practices in three key areas: At work, at home and in their communities.

Professionals interested in submitting an entry can do so through July 31, by visitingspa.zeftronnylon.com. Zeftron will reward and honor the 2011 first place winner by providing a $1,000 check in the winner’s name made payable to the sustainable organization or charity of his/her choice. A $250 prize will be made directly to the winner to further his or her own personal sustainability efforts. The 2011 runner-up recipient will have a $500 check in his or her name made payable to the sustainable organization of his or her choice. As further recognition, the runner-up will also receive $100 directly from Zeftron nylon.

“As a brand that’s been on the forefront of creating environmentally responsible and closed-loop recyclable products and processes for more than 40 years, we understand the importance of committing to sustainable practices,” said Tim Blount, Zeftron nylon’s business leader. “Therefore, we are pleased to honor industry professionals leading by example in providing solutions to close the loop and improve our environment.”

Submissions will be judged on originality, innovation and comprehensiveness of answers in the home, work and community categories. The contest is open to all commercial facility, architecture and interior design professionals in the continental United States. There is no cost to enter.
