PG Hardwood Flooring has announced it is consolidating all hardwood production to Saint-Édouard-de-Lotbinière, Quebec. As part of the move, PG will cease operations at its Beauceville, Quebec plant on Dec. 1. According to the company, about five of the nearly 40 employees at the Beauceville plant will be transferred to the Saint-Édouard-de-Lotbinière location.
A major restructuring program has been underway over the last two years at the Saint-Édouard-de-Lotbinière plant to increase production by 33 percent while using less raw material, according to PG. “It is with immense satisfaction that we were able to exceed the goals established at the very onset,” said general manager Jérôme Jobin. He added that production improvements will bring PG’s annual capacity to more than 22 million board feet.
