Shaw Industries Group, Inc. said it has acquired substantially all of the assets of Stuart Flooring Corp.'s hardwood strip manufacturing facility in Stuart, Va. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Established in 1922, Stuart manufactures unfinished solid wood flooring and unfinished parquet flooring for residential applications. In addition to retailers and distributors, Stuart customers include original equipment manufacturers that finish products to their own specifications.
“The acquisition of Stuart enhances our solid wood supply chain and substantially increases both our sales capacity and product capability in this segment. Stuart’s reputation as a high quality producer is a great fit with our Zickgraf solid wood assets. This is another step in becoming our customers’ preferred hardwood vendor in quality and styling,” said Vance D. Bell, Shaw's ceo.
