Invista is investing more than $14 million in capital investments at its nylon fiber manufacturing facilities in Camden, S.C.; Dalton, Ga.; and Kingston, Ontario. The investments will result in products using less energy and more recycled and renewable content, according to Invista. Start-up is expected in the third quarter of this year.
The investment will also help Invista bring new products to the residential and commercial flooring markets with improved aesthetics and performance, as well as light industrial nylon fibers with improved functionality, the company said.
“Invista Performance Surfaces & Materials plans to forge ahead in its efforts to differentiate our branded and premium product offerings -- including Stainmaster carpet and Antron carpet fiber -- from the rest of the market,” noted Dan Stone, Invista president, Performance Surfaces & Materials.
