Ed Korczak, executive director/ceo of the National Wood Flooring Association, said he will retire at the end of 2011. Korczak has run the association since 1994, growing the NWFA’s membership from 800 to 3,400 member companies. He has also been instrumental in developing the NWFA’s installation guidelines, technical training programs, and annual convention, which is one of the largest conventions in the world dedicated exclusively to wood flooring.
A search committee has been established to hire a successor. Qualified candidates must have at least 10 years of executive management experience and leadership, an educational degree, demonstrated management skills, knowledge building membership bases and conventions, familiarity working with a board of directors and committees, experience managing a diverse staff, and excellent oral and written communication skills.
