Invista,maker of Antron carpet fiber, has appointedTracy Cookas global brand manager for the Antron brand. Cook will lead the development and management of a global brand strategy including advertising, promotions and public relations. Cook will provide strategic direction on brand development and implementation globally and is responsible for North American execution.
“We are pleased to have someone with Tracy’s industry experience, strategic thinking and creativity on our team,” said Diane O’Sullivan, global marketing director for Antron carpet fiber. “The global brand manager is instrumental in helping us enhance our global presence to better meet the needs of our customers. Tracy’s focus will be to create a brand strategy that elevates and increases Antron brand preference domestically, but also establishes a consistent and relevant brand presence in new and expanding markets.”
With nearly 18 years of marketing and brand experience, Cook was most recently director of brand strategy for The Mohawk Group and prior to that was vp marketing at InterfaceFLOR.
Capel Rugshas namedTami Watrasdirector of merchandising. She will be responsible for Capel's strategy and execution of merchandise selection, product development and procurement. In this newly created position, she will report directly to John Magee, president and CEO of Capel Rugs. Under the new structure, her direct reports will include Norm Sweeters, managing director of imports, and Lou Webster, director of design and product development.
Watras joined Capel in 2006 as a merchandise manager and most recently served as general manager of the retail division. Prior to joining Capel, she held positions in merchandising, product development and sourcing for Ethan Allen, Amy Coe, and Lillian August Designs.
