FTI FloorCovering has launched its new website,www. FTIFloorcovering.com. The new web site enables end users and contractors to find workers and companies near them to get the projects done on time and on budget. FTI FloorCovering’s mission is to promote the skilled floor covering workforce of the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades (IUPAT) by promoting the value of its comprehensive training curriculum and its partnerships with manufacturers, contractors and end-users, according a statement from the organization. FTI FloorCovering will also debut its new tradeshow booth (#5366) at Surfaces 2010, which takes place February 1-4 at the Sands Expo & Convention Center in Las Vegas.

The training department of the IUPAT, the Finishing Trades Institute (FTI), has created and maintains an advanced curriculum with which it trains its trainers, at the IUPAT International Training Center in Hanover, MD.  These trainers then take that curriculum back to their local multi-craft training centers throughout the United States and Canada and not only train new apprentices, but also keep its journey workers up to date on all the latest techniques and materials in the field.  The FTI FloorCovering training is precise and rigorous, and not everyone who enters the FTI Floorcovering program makes the final cut, according to the organization.  Those who do complete their training, and the contractors who employ them, are recognized as being part of the FTI FloorCovering network of installation specialists. FTI FloorCovering boasts a growing workforce of more than 3,000 skilled men and women in the United States and Canada with 34 training centers throughout North America.
