Valinge has been granted U.S. Patent 7,634,888, which protects a locking system comprising a tongue with a flexible outer part that locks two panels when they are displaced vertically against each other.

The new vertical snap fold down patent strengthens Välinge's position related to fold down technology, according to the company. "All vertical snap systems, with tongues that bends along the jont such as the 5G original and snap tab systems with a separate tongue that has an outer flexible part, are now covered by Välinge patents," the company added.
